Who is James Parton?
My day job is running marketing for BlueVia, the API platform from telecommunications company Telefonica.
In addition I’m the co-founder and host of HashBang.tv, and chair the Technology Market Interest Group of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, the world’s largest organisation for professional marketers.
I’m a regular speaker, blogger, industry awards judge and write for ITProPortal. Most importantly I hate avacodos
Some examples of me in action:
Some of my favorite recent tweets:
today i spoke at a fntastic event - crowd was listening like i have never tried “@Gidseo: @ml perfect end to #P1event” cool Telefonica

#newdigecon bluevia still posterchild for how to do telco APIs
— Berry Vetjens (@vetjens) November 9, 2011
#newdigecon Bluevia is great example for other Telco's. If at first you don't succeed, revise and redo, *don't* give in.

Shock of the week - Talking to the @bluevia guys - I find that it is based on a survey I filled in for Alan Quayle. They took my advice!

Provocative indeed! RT @JoseValles49: The slides used by @jamesparton at @momov yesterday. At least provocative! slidesha.re/nbUyBk

As an ex-telco guy, I'm really impressed with how far @BlueVia has got. Pushing uphill & doing pretty well. Worth investigating #BlueViaBBQ

Massively shocked at #telco2 as @jamesparton shows off MNO stuff that surprises and delights me. SMS rev share, wow. #bluevia

@jamesparton : you will stop operator bashing after meeting him and genuine fair developper program @BlueVia #mpa11
— Claude Florin (@cflorin) February 14, 2011
Who would have thought that an operator API initiative would be using OAuth? Kudos to @blueviaofficial & @jamesparton for listening to devs.

James Parton from Telefonica was superb. A marketing making much sense about visibility and profile in the mobile app space. #mobile
